Who we are

PartSnipe is a UK price tracking service for PC parts. We scan public listings on eBay UK, Gumtree and Vinted, score them against market value and send deal alerts. For data protection purposes we are the controller of the data described below.

What we collect

• Account details. Your email address and password (stored as a secure hash by our authentication provider).
• Saved searches and alerts. The parts you ask us to watch, your price limits and your email preferences.
• Survey answers. If you tell us where you heard about us, we store that answer against your account.
• Payments. Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We store your plan and subscription status, never your card details.
• Email delivery records. When we email you, we keep a log of what was sent and whether it bounced, so we can stop mailing dead addresses.
• Server logs. Standard technical logs such as request times and page paths, used to keep the site running.

Advertising cookies and the TikTok pixel

We advertise on TikTok. If you accept advertising cookies in the banner, we load the TikTok pixel, a small piece of code from TikTok Technology Ltd. It sets cookies on your device so that TikTok can measure whether its ads brought you to PartSnipe and how you use this site for measurement and ad optimisation purposes. TikTok acts as an independent controller of that data; see TikTok's own privacy notice for what it does with it.

If you decline, the pixel never loads: no cookies are set and no data goes to TikTok from your visits. Ad clicks and impressions are still counted by TikTok either way; that does not involve your data.

Your choice is stored on your device. You can change it at any time using Cookie settings in the footer. Declining after accepting takes effect immediately.

Email

We email you deal alerts you have asked for, a short survey after you sign up and essential account emails. Every marketing or survey email carries an unsubscribe link; using it stops those emails while keeping account essentials such as password resets. Bounced and complained-about addresses are suppressed automatically.

Who we share with

• Our hosting, authentication, database and email delivery providers, to run the service.
• Stripe, to process subscription payments.
• TikTok, only if you accept advertising cookies as described above.

We never sell your personal data.

How long we keep things

Account data is kept while your account is open and for a short period after deletion. Email delivery logs are kept for up to 12 months. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days. Your consent choice is kept on your device until you clear it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, object to our processing or withdraw consent at any time. Email privacy@partsnipe.com and we will sort it out. You can also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
